About Michael J Samuels
Born February 23, 1956 needless to say, I've been around awhile. As a child I always enjoyed seeing slide and photographs of places people had been and things they had done. I loved taking the camera and trying to get a picture "though I wasn't allowed to do this often". For the first 40 years of so it was point and shoot and all about content.
I got my start in digital when I got my first computer. I borrowed old family pictures from my grandmother. Scanning the photos trying to make improvements with primitive editing software. Then the addiction started I got me first couple of digital cameras. I purchased my first DSLR camera and it was off to the races. Bought some of the earlier Adobe editing software and wow! I found that I could take my rough photos and make them look much better. Today some I don't edit much and some I edit a lot. What happens in the editing process depends on what I have flowing through me at the time. Hopefully I keep evolving and improving from experiments along the way,
I've have had a great technical career as a Tool and Diemaker, and Tool and Die Supervisor for 37 years plus. I just recently realized photography was the artistic release I lacked and needed. It has become time to leave what has been a respectable career and pursue what I love, photography. The amount of pride and personal satisfaction I feel when I'm taking and editing my art makes up for everything else. I plan on taking and editing photographs for the rest of my life. If some people enjoy the images along the way it would be grand. If not I've still had a lot of personal satisfaction and fun along the way.
Thank you for the time you have spent reading this biography,
