The Mingus Mill on the North Carolina side of Smoky Mountains National Park. Built in 1886 in 3 months by Sion Thomas Early for the Mingus family. The mill has a metal turbine which was an improvement over the traditional waterwheel mills. Located in a small clearing in the woods notice the wild magnolias around the mill.
